Songs can do a lot for a person. A song or even a single line from a song can: can make you happy, sad, mad, forgiving, depressed, proud, or all of the above. There are two songs that bring all of those emotions to me. "Because He Lives" and "Amazing Grace" Many of you may not know the song "Because He Lives", it was written by The Gaithers,
"God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus, He came to love, heal, and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Because He lives I can face tomorrow, Because He lives all fear is gone; Because I know
He holds the future, And life is worth the living just because He lives.
How sweet to hold a newborn baby, And feel the pride and joy He gives; But greater still the calm assurance, This child can face uncertain days because He lives.
And then one day I'll cross the river, I'll fight life's final war with pain; And then as death gives way to vict'ry, I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives."
The chorus of this song came to me just a few days after we lost our first son. I couldn't remember just how it went so I looked it up, but only the chorus. Two days later we sang this song on Easter morning at church and I still can't get thru the 2nd verse w/ out tears. I do know that because He lives I CAN face tomorrow! This bittersweet song has been sung as a congregation song just after I found out I was pregnant with Sissy, just after we announced it to everyone and right after she was born. It was also sung just after I found out I was expecting Boo, just after we announced it and right after he was born, with no planning. (We do sing it at other times too, and Daddy and I are the only ones who know this or every time we sing it all eyes would be on us! ;)
And then there's "Amazing Grace." Last night at church we sang Amazing Grace as the alter call. It brought tears to me eyes, not because it is such a great song or that it signifies my testimony, but because of the memories it holds. Both sad and happy. This was the song we sang at the graveside services for our Little Angel.
As I sat there last night I thought of the sweetest sound and the sweetest thing I have ever heard. The sweetest thing was when Sissy was born and Daddy looked at me with tears in his eyes and said, "Do you hear her? Do you hear her crying?" And that my friends was the sweetest sound I have ever heard, Sissy's little baby cries. Our family was waiting in the nurse's station just outside of the c-section room and they said her cries filled up the entire floor!!! Oh, how long we had waited to hear a baby cry.
Now, on to the pride. When Sissy was just about 18 mo. she "sang" her first special at church. She would go around the house singing "B I B I B" in perfect tune to "The B I B L E", so she went up front one Sunday night and sang for the church. She moved on to bigger and better, just after she turned 2 she Sang "I'll fly away" and most recently "Amazing Grace". I am so proud to be pushing my cart in Wal-Mart while Boo is singing "Oh, Church of God, the day of Jubilee" or walking in a store swinging Sissy's hand and she starts singing "God will carry me home"
It truly is "Because He Lives"!!!!!!

I could never Imagine.....
It's been a rough week here. I got a call from my Mom on Sunday afternoon, her cousin had called my Grandma to tell her that two of my young cousins (her granddaughters) had been killed in a car/train accident. They were riding with their grandfather (on the other side) on the way to church when he made a turn directly into the path of the train (according to police reports). I cannot even begin to imagine what this young couple is going through. They lost not only her father, but also their two beautiful babies ( they were 8 and 11). I look at my two kidos and think of all the times my Dad has taken them to or picked them up from school and all the other times they just want to go somewhere w/ him. This is an unimaginable pain to me, so many times I just pick up my kidos and sit and hug them. I know it sounds negative, but you never know will God while call them home. Please pray for this entire family.

It's snowin' again?!?
Just as the roads are finally melting.....
Tonight we went to a b-ball game at the high school to watch Daddy's cousin's son play his last home game of his high school career. After the game, Daddy went to get the van while we waited. Outside it was snowing again. The kidos saw it and Sissy said, "Papa said it was gonna snow." Boo didn't say anything, then suddenly he looked out between the people and said excitedly, "It's snowin' AGAIN !?!?!?!?! Sometimes he can be so cute by just being Boo. Well, off to bed Sissy has her first big basketball game tomorrow and we have to be in town at 8:45. That's pretty early since we slept 'til 9:30 this morning and then didn't get home from the ball game tonight until after 10:00. O'well it'll be fun to watch a bunch of 4 and 5 year old "trying" to play basketball.

Where have I been???
Life is never normal for a Preschool Mama and these past few days have been no exception! Let's see....let's start with last Tuesday. I dropped the kidos off at school and drove the 20 miles so I could go to Super Wal-Mart and hoped to stop by the bible bookstore to look around and have a quiet lunch somewhere. I decided to start with lunch. Just as I sat down, my phone rang. It was my Dad calling to see if my sister had found me. Not even two minutes later the phone rang again, I glanced at the # and thought it was Nana. Now what? Instead it was the kidos' teacher. Boo said his tummy hurt, but then she told me the whole story....he had pinched his finger and it bleed. (Not something that regularly happens to him.) He was "as-white-as a sheet" and had "sweat pouring off his forehead" words from his teachers. I had figured that his tummy hurt because he wanted comforted, not because it really hurt. Sure enough within 5 minutes she said he fell asleep. Next, Wednesday, before school Boo jumped off a chair and landed on one of his toys he hadn't put away and scraped his toe....he was scared and would barely even let me put a band-aid on it. Thursday, Sissy tripped and landed on Boo's car crusher and "poked a hole" in her leg (in adult words - scratched her leg). Friday....nothing that I remember. Saturday, when Daddy started the van there was a cat in the engine area, thankfully no damage to cat or van. Sunday, Mama - another wonderful Migraine..luckily Boo went with his Sunday School teacher for the afternoon and Sissy wanted to go to Grandma's while Daddy helped Papa (Mama got to lie down). Monday, pretty normal. Tuesday, ice, sleet, and snow predicted so school was cancled. When Sissy heard the radio, she was mad at the weatherman and want to know if we had her teacher's home # so she could call her; Boo was happy, no school. Sure enough it rained all morning and then around noon it started with freezing rain, turning to sleet, and finally to snow w/ total snow of 2 inches. Wednesday no school. Roads were pretty cleared so went to Grandma and Papa's for afternoon and supper (Daddy was working late.) Daddy brought home special Valentine's a large artist notebook type color book for Sissy and a puzzle for Boo. Boo was "coloring the wrong color" on Sissy's book, so she didn't want him to color with her anymore. Boo got angry and threw a car at her (not a Matchbox or Hot wheel, but one from the Dollar General, read heavy, all metal, with pointy edges). Daddy in the kitchen and Mama doing fun tax stuff at the computer. Sissy yelled something about Boo throwing something at her and she started crying, Daddy took Boo to his room (he had just been warned about throwing things). I meet Sissy in the kitchen, she was crying with her hand by her forehead covered in blood. What does Mama do? Freak out of coarse. I yelled for Daddy, he's much better w/ blood, it's in his job. Ends up she has a small cut in her bangs not much bigger than the end of an inkpen. I know, I know head wounds bleed more, but this was a lot of blood coming out of my poor baby! Boo won't even look at her head because he was afraid he would see blood...so much for my little tuff guy! Anyway, now you know where I've been for the last few days!!

Yellow means....
Boo, as a typical 3 year old, is always asking questions. This includes what do the colors on stoplights mean. The other night while driving thru town he starts yelling "Consolations, Daddy!! Consolations!!" while pointing at the other direction's yellow light. It was so cute, he then said, " Green means go, red means stop, and yellow means consolations!"

Hi my name's Mama....
I thought I would take a little time to tell you all about myself. I'm a mostly stay-at-home Mama to my two children Sissy age 4 and Boo age 3. (I work part time from my home) I've been married for about 7 1/2 years. I attend the First Church of God-Anderson. I love to ramble and thought this would be good therapy for me and also a good way to help me remember the silly and sometimes not so silly things my kidos do everyday.
If you're looking for a blog that will help you get your life organized, help you have a clean and organized home, or how to get your kidos to listen and do things the first time....this isn't the site, but let me know where it is please! :)
This is just boring rambling from me, Mama.
